Sam Fine for Fashion Fair Pink Parfait Lipstick* Pictures & Swatches

Sam Fine for Fashion Fair Pink Parfait  Lipstick is a bright barbie pink with a rich creamy finish. This one is not for the timid, you will need to be bold and a tad daring to pull this one off, or make it more "wearable" with a plum lip liner...

Review: Sam Fine for Fashion Fair African Violet Lipstick*

Sam Fine for Fashion Fair African Violet lipstick ($22.00/N4,200 for 0.12 oz./3.4g) described as a deep plum with a luxurious formula that has an ultra-creamy texture to guarantee incredibly smooth application and rich color payoff. Specially treated pigments blended to deliver pure, intense color with the perfect hint of shine.

African Violet is a rich deep plum with a creamy texture and shimmer free finish, similar to Makeup Forever Rouge artist intense #48.
Like the rest of the Supreme Color Collection, it comes in a rich gold tube. I feared it would be heavy as metallic packaging sometimes is but its not. Light weight without looking cheap (at all :-)
African Violet like the other shades in this collection is moisturising, creamy and very pigmented. It delivers full opaque coverage, with a smooth creamy texture for a drag-free application. Once on it pretty much stayed put, when they said long wear they were not kidding. This lipstick survived 2 cups of coffee and lunch! Over the course of the day (coffee, lunch et al) it lost some of its pigmentation and shine, leaving a less intense almost matte finish.
If you are not bold enough to go full on with a dark lip try fading it out: apply African Violet to your upper lip alone and smack your lips together to spread the color
The Sam Fine for Fashion fair lipsticks retail at $22 for 3.4g. Quite pricey, compared to other high end brands like MAC lipsticks retail for $15.0 for 3g, Makeup Forever $19 for 3.4g but with the packaging and intense color payoff I'd say its worth every penny.
African Violet is one of my favourites of the entire collection. I'm absolutely loving this! Apart from the shade, I love that it's long lasting but not drying, so I can have breakfast and carry on with my day without needing to touch up my lipstick :-)

Have you tried any lipsticks from the collection? What do you think?

Review: Sam Fine for Fashion Fair Amalfi Coast Eye shadow quad*

Amalfi Coast ($38 /N8,500 for 0.33oz/9.4g) is a warm-toned palette that combines shimmery and matte eye shadows. According to the brand, "each compact contains a variety of luxurious finishes- sheer sparkle, satin, shimmer and matte- offering a spectrum of intensity and effects that deliver incredible long lasting colour."

The quad contains...
Shimmering Sand: is a light gold with gold sparkle with a velvet-satin finish. Can be worn light for sheer coverage or packed on for fuller coverage (it looks more gold this way.
Shimmering Forest: is a shimmery medium green.
Shimmering Copper is a shimmery red brown-copper shade

Matte Chocolate Brown: the shade name pretty much says it all. A beautiful dark chocolate brown. I love that it is dark enough for my outer corner and even a brown smokey eye

You already know how I feel about the packaging, its absolutely gorgeous like the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow LOL. Me likey a lot. The quad cones with a full mirror and 2 sponge applicators.

All 4 shades have a soft smooth texture. Application and blending came easy thanks to the texture. I also like that you can create complete looks with this palette; from the highlight to the contour and lid shades. I also like that this palette includes shades you would need to recreate signature Sam Fine looks; The light almost flesh tones gold all over the lid and a chocolate brown for the contour.

I'd rank this quad in the high end category at $38 /N8,500 for 0.33oz/9.4g. But for the quality and quantity of the product I'd say it's a pretty decent deal. MAC eye shadow quads retail for $40 for 5.6 g / 0.19 US oz and Sleek Makeup iDivine palettes retail for $9.99 for 13.2g/0.36oz. So down the g that makes MAC $7.14/g, Sam Fine for Fashion Fair $4.04/g and Sleek Makeup 0.76/g. Ok enough with the math Sam Fine for Fashion Fair quads are cheaper than MAC (by near 50%) but more expensive than Sleek Makeup I divine palettes.
I ordered mine straight from Fashion Fair as part of my bulk order so If you are in Nigeria and you want to get your hands on one call me ;-)

Overall:
I got this palette without thinking twice because I am a hopeless Sam Fine fan still I think its good value for your money. Beautiful packaging, beautiful shades, everyday shades, good colour pay off, and good price. No regrets here, I love pulling out this gorgeous quad to touch up lipstick (in public; yes I'm that shallow LOL).
