FOTD: All about the lip; Plum Momento

So clearly this look is all about the lips. I was going out for drinks with girlfriends and didn't have a lot of time plus I had just reviewed my OCC lip tars ... so I went for an almost bare face and a strong lip.
In hind sight my lip liner is actually not well blended :(
Shades selected palette out ready for mixing :)

I'm wearing...

HD foundation from MUFE set with studio fix in NW45 and blush  in Love thing both from MAC.

Brows filled with MUFE No.3 and sculpted with MAC concealer in NW43.
Black liquid liner from Eve Pearl on my eyelid and black gel liner from Bobby Brown on my water line.

Deep cherry twist up lip liner from Sleek Make up, and a mix of plum and Momento lip tars from OCC cosmetics.

In my OCC lip tar review I mentioned they had great stay power. Just in case you were wondering here is some proof. After a night out with the girls (eating and drinking included) I took this picture of my lips. Some of the color is gone but the tint is still clear.

Product Review: Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics Lip tars

After missing them at the London IMATS (they were sold out by the time I got to their stand), I finally got some OCC lip tars at the NY Make up show.
The wide range of shades made it a bit hard to decide but I finally went with NSFW, Memento & Plum.
Momento,NSFW and Plum
On the Lips:

As you might have guessed I won't be wearing these shades alone any time soon, except maybe the plum. Not to worry though because one of the fun features of this product is mixing them to get the perfect  shade.

They are actually more like lip paint than lip gloss don't let their tubes fool you and they dry kind of matte. Great pigmentation and long wear, you actually need wipes to get them off. Great buy but if you are not a fan of mixing makeup finding the perfect shade straight out the tube might be a challenge.

FOTD: Simply Turquoise

This look was inspired by the sun shinning super bright outside! Bright liner, and everything else is pretty low key in nude shimmery tones.
here is the breakdown...

I’m wearing primer and liquid foundation in Barbados from Youngblood cosmetics, set with MAC studio fix in NW45. On my cheeks I'm wearing highlighter in Gold digger from Sleek make up.
My brows are filled in with No.3 pencil from MUFE.
I lined my upper eye lid with No. 87 gel liner from Inglot, on my lashes two coats of  L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara and my waterline is lined with  No. 11 eye pencil from MUFE.
I went for nude with Clinic lipstick in Creamy nude and L'Oreal natural glow lip gloss in Crystal bronze glow.

I was really impressed with the eyeliner, as soon as it dried it stayed in place till I washed it off! I took the picture on the left at the end of the day, which I spent walking around town.

Product Review: Inglot Gel liners.

From my New York Make Up show haul, the Inglot gel liners...

I got two of them, in 75 (purple) & 87 (turquoise). They are highly pigmented gels that dry matte and stay on all day, proof of this in my next post ;-).

Good pigmentation and long wear power. So far I have only worn it as a liner but I'm pretty  sure it will make a good eyeshadow base too.

NAM: The birth of a new passion?

Inspired by over priced clothes (the really cute kind), fueled by confidence in our  our  sense of style and armed with a supernatural dose of DIY power my friend Mary and I decided to take a stab at making our own clothes.

Where better to start than Paris... the fashion capital of the world.
We checked out a few fabric stores in the Paris Montmartre area and it was super exciting. They had some pretty amazing pieces that made it hard to leave without buying the entire store. We also discovered a store for all the knickknacks you could possibly need to sew. Here are some pictures...
Never seen this many buttons before!
The stores we visited were just minutes away from the Sacred Heart Basilica, Metro Anvers.

So far all we have are big ideas and loads of excitement, lets see if we actually keep up with this. I will of course keep you posted ;)

NOTD: Suzi Says Feng Shui

You may have noticed that I am wearing my nails shorter than usual... well that's because I am wearing a color that is bolder than usual. Its not exactly the kind of color I would suggest off the top of my head, especially for chocolate skin. Still I was in the mood to take a risk, and I think it makes a nice shade for the summer.

Suzi Says Feng Shui is a turquoise shade from OPI. Its bold but not to loud or bright. I think this is what make it wearable. To play safe I am wearing this bright color on short nails.
I have on two coats on a base coat from Wet and Wild, topped with top coat from OPI.

Are you ready for summer?

I lined my upper lid with black liquid liner from Eve Pearl and Sleek twist up eyeliner in midnight on my waterline .On flare false lashes and L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara.
On my lips I'm wearing L'Oreal two color presso lip gloss in 680.

I lined my upper lid with black liquid liner from Eve Pearl and Sleek twist up eyeliner in midnight on my waterline and L'Oreal Voluminous Mascara on my lashes.
On my lips I'm wearing L'Oreal two color presso lip gloss in 280, I'm wearing the darker shade alone for more color.

Till next time my Belles,

Product Review: Inglot 5 shadow palette

At the New York make up show last month, the Inglot stand was one of the busiest stands.
What stoop out most to me was the freedom system,  as the name implies it allows you make your own palette.
This is how it works: they give you a magnetic board where you place all the pans you choose (after testing them of course), you give it back to them and in minutes your palette is ready. I got a 5 color eyeshadow palette.
Pearl 407,D.S 464, D.S 72,Pearl 452, D.S 483
Their eye shadow shades are numbered and I noticed two categories the pearl and DS eye shadows. the pearl shades are shimmery and the D.S shades are matte with metallic specs  in them.

I'm loving this concept, its so innovative. I think the ability to put whatever you like in a magnetic palette is just awesome. Whats more, these palettes can be stacked up on top of each other thanks to magnets.
The eye shadows give good color pay off and come on velvet smooth especially with the Pearl eye shadows.
The packaging is really unique, a black base with a monogrammed frosted glass cover which you slide off to open.
Bottom line I'm loving this palette and it will definitely not be my last.

MakeUp show New York part 4 (the finale!)

The Haul...

First of all I admit that I did go a little over board with my purchases, but like every addict I have successfully  justified all my purchases :-).They were all good deals, all the brands had price reductions at their stands; Make Up Forever took up to 50% off some products.
Also, many of these products are not available in Paris and buying make up online is not as much fun as buying it in person...

As always I walked into the show with a fixed budget (I do this every time i go for a show to help keep my spending in check) but after my first 30 minutes at the show I knew I would be going way beyond it....
I bought
Inglot: gel eye liners (87&75), 5 color eye shadow palette, single eyeshadow (Pearl) and a stainless palette.
Make Up Forever: HD foundation (180), HD blush (11), Eye pencils (11,3 & 52), Hd concealer (360) and aqua creams (17& 14) and star powder.
OCC: Lip tars (NSFW, memento & Plum)
Eve Pearl: Liquid liner pen
Nigel's beauty emporium: Monda False lashes, 12 place magnetic palette, lip wands.
Young Blood: Mineral primer and foundation (Barbados)
Graftobian: Make Up set spray
Mehron: Eye creams (golden rose), Precious gem powder (amethyst)
Osoma cosmetics: make up and nail brushes
Mattese elite: lip gel (quickie) and nail color (nutty hat guy)

I also got a bunch of dvds from Danessa Myricks and Sam Fine

After their seminar Young Blood gave out their full sized HD powder and samples of their primer, after i bought their primer and foundationI I also got a sample of their new tinted HD powder.

L'Oreal, was not selling products on the second day of the show, instead they gave out goodie bags!!! In the pack we got 2 HIP duo eye shadows (906 & 806), 2 color presso lip gloss (680 & 280), voluminous mascara, 24hr lash boosting power system and Magic perfecting base.

So there you have it my haul form the 2010 New York make up show. I will be reviewing these products in the near future so stay tuned. If you would like to see a particular review before the rest leave a comment and let me know.
